8-25-07: Flash Me Magazine is now hiring! We are currently hiring another admin assistant to handle our rejection letters. If interested, please email us.
Flash Me Magazine has added four new employees to our staff. Please welcome Sherry, Heather, Annie, and Amy! Sherry and Heather are our newest editors while Annie and Amy will be taking over most of the administrative duties.We also have several promotions to announce: Jan and Jeannie have moved up to Associate Editors and Larisa has been given a new title, Administrative Manager. Congrats to them all! Book Reviews Flash Me Magazine will now be doing book reviews! All books must be collections of flash fiction works. Interested authors must email us for more information. Reviews will be emailed to the author for approval first, and then published in our PDF subscription. We will be holding another Flash for BIG Cash contest in the near future! Keep your eyes open for details next quarter. Flash Me Magazine will be at the 2008 World Fantasy Convention. Next year's WFC will be held in Calgary and Flash Me Magazine will be there. We plan to have a dealer table manned by FMM staff where we will sell CDs containing all four 2008 PDF issues. We are also trying to get our first print anthology together by then. You'll be able to meet the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor, as well as register for drawings. If you plan to attend the WFC, make plans to stop by and see us! Click here to learn more about the WFC. We are planning an all fantasy issue for October 2008. Beginning January 1, 2008, we will be accepting fantasy stories for our October 2008. This is a one-time themed issue, coinciding with the World Fantasy Convention. Authors wishing to submit stories for this special issue must follow our fantasy issue guidelines. All submissions must be received by July 31, 2008. |

| FLASH ME MAGAZINE'S BEST OF THE BEST CONTEST | |
|
After canceling the Lightning Flash Fiction Contest, we decided to do a Best of the Best contest with all the previous winners of the old contest. We had eight stories total, and our readers decided which story is the best of the best. The eight contestants were: "Guilty" by Fiona Titcombe "The Ship" by Terry Weide "The Flower" by Catherine Cheek "A Witch's Grocery List" by Michael Greenhut "Witch's Welcome" by Rachel Green "The Retirement of Bruce" by Louise Norlie "Put-Put" by Tamlyn Leigh and "Swinging the World" by Joanne Anderton THE BEST OF THE BEST STORY IS: "Witch's Welcome" by Rachel Green She received $20 US via PayPal and will be eligible for publication in our first anthology, debuting in 2008! This quarter our PDF issue features an interview with Flash Me Magazine's Managing Editor, Elizabeth Hull. Here's an excerpt: "The move up to Managing Editor has certainly changed my job with the Magazine to a certain extent but I find my new responsibilities exciting and rewarding.
