| WHAT'S NEW? |
* We'd like to announce that long-time editor Elizabeth Hull has been promoted to the position of Managing Editor of Flash Me Magazine! Elizabeth was one of our first editors and over the last three years, through thick and thin, she has helped keep this magazine running. Her dedication to the magazine has made her invaluable and we're certain to see only good changes with her at the helm!
* You may have also noticed the new name and title for Jennifer Michaels, who was the Senior Editor. Jennifer has remarried and switched her name to Jennifer Dawson. And with Elizabeth's promotion, Jennifer's title has shifted to Editor-in-Chief. She will still be the primary contact person at Flash Me Magazine, though.
* We'd also like to announce that we have hired two new editors! Susan Curnow and Rebecca Snowden have joined our staff, bringing the number of full-time editors back up to seven. To read more about them and what type of stories they enjoy reading, check out our staff page.
* We have also hired our very first Contest Administrators, Jan Harris and Mary Ann Back! They will be managing our Lightning Flash Fiction Contest for us. You can read more about them on the staff page, as well.
* We still have several positions we are hiring for: Editor (someone to help review regular submissions for the magazine), Contest Administrators (someone to handle our Lightning Flash Fiction Contest), and a Marketing Director (someone to handle
advertising, banner exchanges, and keeping our listings current on all
the market listings, like Ralan.com). No experience is necessary. Interested persons should email us.

| INTERVIEW |
Mary Ann Back was our Feature Story winner from Issue 12 and as a relatively new writer, we thought she'd make a good choice for our next interview. Coincidently, while doing the interview with her, she applied for a position at Flash Me Magazine. She is now one of our Lightning Flash Fiction Contest Administrators!
Here's a snippet from the interview:
I like to observe things and let my creativity run rampant. When I write I actually see the story unfold in my mind like a screen play. When I’m at my best I am completely absorbed and often look up to find that hours have passed. My episodes of missing time are completely due to “writing benders” and have nothing to do with anything even remotely extraterrestrial!
