WHAT WE PUBLISH
FLASH ME MAGAZINE is a quarterly publication brought to you by Winged Halo Productions.
We are a paying market, accepting all genres of fiction under 1,000
words. We are one of the few markets that offer editorial feedback with rejection letters.
Stories with excessive gore, violence, profanity, or sex are not appropriate for Flash Me Magazine. As a magazine
geared towards readers of all ages and beliefs, we reserve the right to
decline stories based on their content. We do not publish poetry.
Issues are published on January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31. Submission deadlines are two months prior to publication.
*The deadline for our next issue is June 1, 2010 @ midnight EST.*

SUBMISSION
GUIDELINES
Last Updated 3-3-10 |
We accept all genres of fiction under 1,000
words. There is no minimum word count, but our
upper limit is set in stone.
All submissions must have the word SUBMISSION in the subject, as well as your story's title. Stories should be sent either in the body of
your email or attached as a .doc or .rtf document to submissions(at)wingedhalo(dot)com. Do NOT send .docx documents - we cannot open them. If you are pasting your
submission into the body of your email, please use plain text without
any special formatting. A garbled submission is a pain to read and is
easy to avoid.
Include your legal name, your name as you want it published, your email address and a short biography
to be published with your story. You may also include a link to
your personal website.
Submissions with incorrect subject lines and/or without all the required information will be
rejected upon receipt, even if we've published your work before.
Please send only one submission per email. We do not limit the amount of submissions per author, per quarter, but we do need each and every submission sent in a separate email with all of the above requested information in each email. We will reject any emails that have more than one submission in it.
We do not
encourage simultaneous submissions. We don't want to reserve a slot for
your story, only to have you pull it for publication elsewhere.
Please tell us if your submission is a reprint. We do
consider reprints for publication, as long as the author discloses
where the story was previously published and assures us that they
retain all rights to the story. Failure to disclose previous publications
or incarnations of a story is grounds for rejection.

editors and see what kind of stories they like.

PLEASE NOTE: We notify each author when we receive their submission. If you do not
receive an email within a few days, assume we have not received your
submission and resend it. We will send acceptance and denial letters at least two weeks prior to
publication (Jan 17, April 17, July 17, Oct 17). If you do not
receive an email by then, please email us with a query.

| PAYMENT |
We are a paying market. All published stories will receive twenty-five dollars ($25) US via PayPal, plus a year's subscription to Flash Me Magazine. Our Feature Story winner will receive an additional twenty-five dollars ($25), for a total of fifty dollars ($50) US via PayPal. That means Feature Stories are guaranteed professional rates of at least five cents ($0.05) per word. We will choose our Feature Story only after all accepted stories are formatted for publication. Please see our Editorial Process
for more details. PayPal payments will be sent out on or before publication. Subscriptions are usually sent out one day prior to the next scheduled issue (Jan 30, April 29, July 30, Oct 30). Alternative means of payment can be negotiated.
***
RIGHTS: We are buying Exclusive Electronic Rights for a period of three months.
We require permission to use accepted stories in our free online
issue, our PDF subscription, and any future CD versions produced. We require permission to archive the story online for one year. We will continue to archive the story unless the author requests we remove it. If we decide to publish
an anthology or print versions at any time in the future, we will contact the authors for
permission to reprint their stories.
